Yves's recomposition
2017
As my perception of most of the art came from it's digital or printed reproductions it led me to wonder if the feelings it created were only to the idea, to the theoretical existence of those pieces or those feelings could be transcendental and if they are the same as if experiencing the piece itself.
In late 2016 I’ve encountered Klein’s Untitled orange monochrome from 1956 and despite the absence of physical encounter with the piece, I’ve had a great feelings for it.
This absence led me to think about where does it’s value resides and if the physicallity of it even mattered. As Rauschenberg erased de Koonings drawing I've been driven by the same ambition. To edit, to decode, to erase the original reproduction I’ve encountered and fell in love with to observe where the value of the original ends and where something new emerges.
